2 Methods to Transfer Music from iPad to Computer

"Last week, my computer was down. Although now it's been mended. However, some files in the computer including my favorite songs are lost, and cannot be recovered. So, I want to transfer some songs to the computer from my iPad Pro where I have stored hundreds of songs. Can anyone tell me how to transfer music from iPad Pro to computer?"

Step 2. Connect iPad to PC

Step 3. Select Music from iPad

On the left pane, click "Music" and you can see the music library of your iPad. Then, click on the "Music" button under "All Music" or specific category under "Playlist" to display music items. And you can enter the song name to search it in the search box. Then tick the ones you want to transfer from your iPad to the computer.

Step 4. Export Songs from iPad to PC

After making selection, you can export songs to your computer. There are two ways for you to output music.


#1 Right click the song > click "Export to PC" > select a folder to store.

IMPORTANT: Songs that are downloaded from Apple Music CAN be transferred to your PC but CANNOT be played on your computer. The reason is that those files are DRM-protected. Method 2. Transfer Music from iPad to Computer with iTunes

What You Need:

* iPad

* USB Cable

* Latest version of iTunes

Step 1. Install iTunes

To start with, download and install the latest iTunes in your computer. Then launch the program. Please note that it is better to check the "Prevent iPhone, iPad from automatic sync with this computer" before connecting iPad to PC in case all music been wiped out from iPad.

Navigate to "File" > "Library" > "Export". This will export the playlist as a text file. Then you need to name the output music files before you click the "Save" button.

Step 5. Back to Computer's Library View

Click the Music icon which  is located at the top-left corner of the Window. This will switch back to the computer's library view.


Step 6. Import Playlist

Click "File" > "Library" > "Import Playlist", then select the text file which is created in step 4.

You can only sync your iPad with one iTunes library at a time. If you receive a message reading that your iPad is synced with another iTunes library, your iPad was previously connected to another computer. If you click "Erase and Sync" in that message, all content of the selected type on your iPad will be wiped and replaced with content from this computer.

With iTunes, you can copy your playlists from iPad to iTunes. But it is not very convenient to do it with iTunes because of too much steps. Additionally, syncing iPad music to iTunes may wipe the original playlist on your iPad.


Compared to iTunes for Mac, its Windows counterpart is relatively cumbersome, difficult and slow in response, particularly in Windows 7 or Windows 10. Though you can still follow the given steps above to export music from iPad to PC with iTunes, this method is not recommended to Windows users. For them, TuneFab WeTrans is a better choice.
