Different Ways to Download Free Music on iPhone

Technology brings us great convenience and efficiency. One of the wonderful things that high-tech brings to us is that we can now enjoy music directly on our mobile phone such as iPhone 6/6 Plus/7/8/X/XS without using disk. Listening to music online is free. But if you want to download songs from iTunes, Apple Music, etc., and permanently own them, you have to pay for them. In this guide, we will show you different ways to download free music on iPhone 6/6 Plus/7/8/X/XS.

Getting free music on iPhone can be completed in two steps, download and transfer. First, you should follow steps in part 1 to download music into your computer. After that, follow steps in part 2 to transfer files downloaded from PC to iPhone 6/6 Plus/7/8/X/XS. Detailed steps are shown below.


Method 1. Download Music for Free from Music Forum

Step 1. Find a community that shares music, Reddit for example. As these forums are for members-only, much less likely to be pursued by authorities.

Step 2. Pay attention to "share" or "sharing" discussions.

Step 3. People may post albums with hyperlinks leading to direct downloads of the album. Pick the one you want.

Step 4. Copy the download link of the album. Then paste it into a new tab. And download the album following the prompts.

Step 5. Transfer downloaded songs to your iPhone 6/6 Plus/7/8/X. For transfer details, please refer to part 2.

Method 2. Download Free Music from Music Communities

Step 1. Visit a music community website:

BandCamp & SoundCloud:Artists can upload music that visitors can stream. But not every item can be downloaded.

PureVolume:There are many free downloads. Visitors can choose an album > click a free MP3 link to download.

NoiseTrade:Artists upload music for their fans to download for free. All the music uploaded by artists are completely legal to download. You can download many free songs from different artists.

Step 2. Search songs you want to download. Directly download it if possible. Otherwise, convert streaming music into downloadable items in a conversion website.

Step 3. Transfer downloaded music to your iPhone 6/6 Plus/7/8/X/XS. For transfer details, please refer to part 2.

Part 2. Transfer Music from PC to iPhone 6/6 Plus/7/8/X/XS

Method 1. PC-to-iPhone Transfer with WeTrans

Step 1. Download a transfer program to your computer. Here we recommend TuneFab WeTrans. And make sure that the latest iTunes in your PC is open.

Step 2. Connect your iPhone to PC using a USB cable.

Step 3. Once your iPhone is connected, you will have the interface as below. Click the add icon beside the categories, and then you can choose whether to "Add File(s)" or "Add Folder".

#1. If you choose "Add File(s)", then you can select songs that you want to transfer from computer to iPhone.

#2. If you choose "Add Folder", then you can export the folder including songs you want to transfer.

Step 4. After choosing songs, simple click the "OK" button. Just wait before transfer is done.

Method 2. PC-to-iPhone Transfer with iTunes

Step 1. Download the latest version of iTunes in your PC. Then run iTunes.

Step 2. Click "File" > "Add File to Library"/ "Add Folder to Library".

Step 3. Connect your iPhone to the computer. Then you will see a phone icon. Click the iPhone icon, the new Settings list will be activated.

Step 4. In the settings list, choose "Music" > choose "Sync Music" > choose "Entire music library" or choose songs you want to sync > click "Apply".

That's all. Among three download methods below, method 1 that using VidPaw is highly recommended, because you can download any songs you want from YouTube. However, in music forums, communities, and blogs, you can only download songs from download links people provided. Consequently, you may be disappointed when failing to find your desired songs.
