DVD-5, commonly abbreviated to D5, is a kind of disc of single layer and single layer disc (SS-SL). DVD-5 is supported by DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW. DVD9

DVD-9, short for D9, is a larger version than DVD-5. It is a kind of disc of dual layers and single side. DVD-9 can contain data up to 8.5G. Generally, movies in D9 use DTS audio system or LPCM lossless audio. Mostly, videos contained in DVD-9 are more than 100 minutes. With DVD-R DL and DVD+R DL as the official names, DVD-9 is widely used by commercial DVDs, such as encrypted with DVD region codes, Sony ARccOS, etc.

In conclusion, DVD-9 is better than DVD-5 for the below reasons:

#1. Larger Capacity As Well As Higher Image Quality
