How to Record Powerpoint Presentation with Audio

Part 1. How to Save as Video Files in PowerPoint 2013

Step 1. Save your created PowerPoint file as PPTX file.

Step 2. Click on "File" and go to "Export" to choose "Create a Video".

Step 3. Under the "Create a Video", you are allowed to select a suitable quality of the video in the first drop-down list. Presentation Quality, Internet Quality, and Low Quality are provided.

Step 4. Still, in "Create a Video", you can change the settings of narration and timings in the second drop-down list.

Step 5. Click on "Create a video" and type the file name.

Step 6. Go to "Save as type" box, and select MP4 or WMV as the file format. What’s more, you are able to check the creating progress at the bottom of the screen.


Tips:

1. The long and complicate presentation video might cost you a lot of time. Moreover, it might take a whole night to create the video. Or set it as overnight creation so that it can finish the creation in the following morning.

2. If you are using PowerPoint 2016, you can follow the operation above.


Some things are Excluded in the Video

#1. Media files are incompatible in the previous version of PowerPoint. Otherwise, convert or upgrade the media objects.

#2. QuickTime media, which require you install a third-party QuickTime codec called ffdShow in order to achieve the compatibility.

Step 1. Select Recording Area for PPT

Select a recording area which is suitable for your PowerPoint Presentation. You are able to choose full screen and customized size by clicking on the signal of the inverted triangle.

Don't forget to check both "System Audio" and "Microphone", when you’re recording presentation video to share online. Otherwise, viewers will not catch what you prepare to deliver in the video.

For regular users, this step can be skipped. As for new users, go to "More Settings" and select "Output" to choose the location to save recording videos. Also, you can click on the video formats together with the Audio format to set as your recorded PPT files formats.

In "HotKeys", you are able to set your own hotkeys to start/stop the capture, pause/resume capture and take a screenshot.
