How to Record Audio from Chrome

Method 1. Record Audio from Chrome with Chrome Audio Recorder

Step 1. Download & Install TuneFab Chrome Audio Recorder

Step 2. Enter Audio Recorder Mode

Launch the program, on the main interface, tap on "Audio Recorder". Sounds on Chrome will be recorded when the "System Sound" is on by showing you a green dot. You have to be clearly aware that "Microphone" should be off to avoid recording noises if you only want to record audios on Chrome instead of your voice.

Step 3. Choose Audio Format

On the main interface of Audio Recorder, there is a Gear button for customizing the preference of the audio. Hit Output then you can choose the Audio Format from MP3, M4A, AAC and more on Windows and M4A and CAF on Mac.

Step 4. Record Audio on Chrome

Click the "REC" button to start recording audios on Chrome. When the audio is being captured, you can control the whole process by clicking the Pause and the Stop button. Make sure to click the "Save" button to have a preview of recording files.

Method 2. Use A Chrome Extension to Capture Audio from Chrome

Chrome Audio Capture is a Chrome extension that allows users to capture any audio playing on the current tab. Multiple tabs can be captured simultaneously. Captures can be saved as either .mp3 or .wav files. Users will have the option to mute tabs that are currently being captured.


Step 1. Add Chrome Audio Capture to your Chrome by clicking to the link above to get ready to record audio from chrome.


Step 2. Click on the Red Button on the Menu bar and then press Ctrl + Shift + S or directly click on Start Capture to activate Chrome Audio Capture.


Step 3. End up the whole audio recording by pressing Ctrl + Shift + X or click on Save Capture or Cancel Capture to save your audio from chrome.

However, this way has its limitations for recording audio from Chrome:

#1 Audio formats are limited: MP3 and WAV.

#2 Options are limited for choice.

#3 Audio is allowed to be recorded in 20 minutes if it goes longer, then the quality may be not stable.
